Background
Hospital rehabilitation programs often require senior patients to visit the facility, but ~ 70% of the patients end up discontinuing their physical therapy. Compounding this issue, the ongoing pandemic has made it challenging for many senior patients to venture outside without the assistance of their family members.
As a result, they have turned to Telehealth and home-based solutions for help. However, a crucial concern remains regarding their ability to effectively complete rehabilitation exercises at home without the valuable feedback from physical therapists.
What is Yoomi health?
Our digital start-up Yoomi Health is a digital health company with a vision of improving the standard of care in physical therapy. Our goal is to deliver a user-friendly tool that offers senior patients and PTs an automated, smart tracking homecare system for convenient and safe in-home exercise.
My Ownership
I took charge of leading the product process, and collaborated closely with the founding engineers to completely revamp the UX/UI of our dashboards. The designs I developed not only met the needs of our users but also set a high standard for the upcoming inpatient design.
Design Process
Recognizing the importance of user-centered design, I strongly advocated for conducting thorough user research before the ideation phase. To gain valuable insights, I actively participated in user interviews and engaged in the synthesis of the gathered information.
